Who is getting SO BIG!?!?

These two are! The girls are so much fun right now. They are at such a fun baby age, not that any are bad. But they are chatty, smiley, bouncing, exploring little babes. Yes they are demanding at times but overall we are having so much fun with them! I can see a difference between girls and boys. Lucas was much more laid back. Maybe it is a sex difference or maybe it is because they are twins-competing for my attention. Not sure on that one... Kayleigh has a BIT of a temper when she wants something, otherwise she is such a happy, easygoing baby. Peyton is my shadow and always wants attention from momma. She can take alot though without getting too grumpy. So their personalities are definitely different!
We need to get on the ball with baby gates. Lucas was almost a year old before he was crawling and Peyton is already getting into things. She makes it up on her hands and knees but doesn't move just yet besides rocking, she bellyflops and scoots to where she wants to go. I caught her yesterday going from her belly to sitting up. She loves her lovey as you can see :) How are they growing up so fast???!!!

Kales is a reacher, just like her big brother was. This girl could put a hurtin' on the sit and reach test!!! She is also the chatterbox and gets SO EXCITED if you sing to her or when she hears music on TV. All I have to do is start singing "We did it" (Dora the Explorer's music) and she beems and starts to "dance" around. I love it! She will definitely be a paci kid like her big brother :)
They love to play together and LAUGH at Lucas. They smile and get excited for us but they ADORE him, and I think it is safe to say that the feeling is mutual :) For the most part....umm, except for when he knocks them down occasionally, or I caught him trying to sit on Peyton the other day, she only grunted a little bit. Poor girl!

They have blessed our lives in ways that I can't even imagine and we are enjoying every crazy, hectic, exhausting, minute with these two little girls :)

Growing up so fast

This little boy is growing up so fast! We have had another hectic month in our busy household, that was for sure ;) But it was a month of MANY milestones for Lucas. One of his greatest accomplishments was saying goodbye to diapers!!! We decided he was finally ready to go for it about a month ago. we had been working hard at it for awhile and his school is FANTASTIC at working with the kids to go potty. But he just wasn't ready to go all of the way before. He would pee in the potty pretty regularly but no poop. We did get a few episodes every now and then but not consistently, I didn't want to push him cause I knew that would backfire with Lucas... We did undies some evenings for practice sessions. Finally one weekend we just went for it with the big boy undies and he hasn't looked back! He even does it pretty much on his own, probably out of necessity around here! We are so proud of him :)

His other BIG step was ditching his paci. He has been a paci kid from the get-go so I was dreading this one! He has only had it at bedtime now for a few months but still...I figured there would be LOTS of tears and tantrums. BUT we had been talking up being a big-boy and told him he was almost there, we just needed to wear our big boy undies and not use a paci- for quite awhile. He would come and tell us all about it...Well one night before bed he came down from his bath for books and brought it to me and said "Mommy, I'm gonna throw my paci in the trash, I don't need it anymore, I am a big boy!" So that was that. No tears!!! Wow, I was completely shocked but so amazed at how much has has grown up over these last few months, really this past year.

Then, we headed to Busch Gardens a few weeks ago with Shannon and Scarlett for a little mommy toddler time. We had a BLAST spending the day with our first borns and watching them experience so many fun firsts yet again. I have always been an amusement park junkie and I was hoping my kids would join me. We will have to see with the next trip...Lucas did great on some rides and heights were not an issue at all. But the motion stuff didn't seem to be his favorite. This was us on the roller coaster BEFORE we took off, half way through he was ready to bail! Looks like he takes after daddy here ;) I couldn't get him out of the water play areas, slides, and the big tree fort. But we had a wonderful day and actually stayed until almost 8 o'clock- dragging the kids out!!!

This was one of the last nights with the paci, he loves for them to get in his bed. He was trying to get Kayleigh to sleep there for the night ;)

He LOVES to play in his sandbox and enjoyed a fun date with Scarlett after playing in the sprinkler on a hot summer day. This month he also started school two days a week and staying home with us three days. I am loving the extra time with my little man, and the girls are really enjoying their big brother. We have squeezed in some playdates and ventured out a couple of times. It does make for some hectic evenings working on cakes though!!!

What an exciting month for our favorite little boy! We are really such blessed & lucky parents to have him in our lives :) We love you Lukey-Luke!!!
